Medical attention denied to political prisoner Lázaro Ricardo Pérez García (Isla de Pinos, Cuba) - Cuban political police are refusing to give the medical attention which is crucial to Iovany Aguilar Camejo, National Coordinator of the opposition movement known as "Hermanos Fraternales por la Dignidad". He has been incarcerated in the prison known as “1580” since February 28th of this year. For more than two months, the oppositionist has been suffering with the progressive loss of eyesight in his left eye, for which, only because of his family's insistence, the prison doctor prescribed eyedrops which are not available in the clinic, according to Alma Fernández Padrón, his wife. Aguilar Camejo, who is 29 years old, lives at "calle Mayía Rodríguez #666," in Los Pinos, City of Havana and since February 28th he remains in prison without the benefit of any type of legal process.
